INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download Checklist:
Download the Document Checklist that best pertains to you, print it, and go through it thoroughly. Mark off each document that is relevant to your tax return. Upload the checklist to the portal along with all your tax documents once it is complete.
2. Upload Tax Documents:
PDF tax documents ONLY.
3. Spreadsheets:
Acceptable: Excel, Google Sheets, and QuickBooks.
Not Acceptable: PDFs, MAC spreadsheets .numbers and JPEGs.
4. Upload Documents Separately:
Each specific document should be uploaded separately. (eg. If Charles Schwab account is 60 pages, that is considered 1 document. Each employer that sends you something is its own separate document). NOT ACCEPTING multiple tax documents in one file.
5. Label All Documents Correctly:
Tax Year - TYPE of FORM (as listed on checklist) - issuer/company initials - taxpayer initials (spouse tax documents uses spouse initials)
Example A: 2024 W2 BofA - JS (for John Smith)
Example B: 2024 Work Expenses Spreadsheet KS (for spouse Katie Smith)
Example C: 2024 1098 JPMCB (JP Morgan Chase Bank) - JS
Example D: 2024 Advance Child Tax Credit - JS
Example E: 2024 Sale of Home Closing Statement (if no 1099S) - JS
Example F: “Tax Year” + “Rental Prop” + “Address of Rental” + “Tax Document”
2024 Rental Prop 2000 Oceanview Blvd 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement
2024 Rental Prop 1200 Wisconsin Blvd 1099S
2024 Rental Prop 955 Courtland Dr. Purchase Settlement Statement
2024 Rental Prop 160 Berlin St. Expenses etc. (Keep each property and its documents separate to avoid misfiled information)
6. Preview Your Documents:
Make sure all documents are crisp and clear. If you think it is blurry… it is definitely blurry. We cannot input what we cannot see.

7. Taxpayer accounts that are not organized and labeled as instructed will incur a file management fee of $550. It takes our staff an average of 60-120 minutes to fully organize an account before our professionals can actually begin inputting, prepare, and review.
